Eric and Elizabeth Berger, Owners of the historic Arlington Inn with 18 guestrooms and
full service restaurant, in Arlington, Vermont, were recently designated as a GREEN HOTEL
 in the Green Mountain State. (www.vtgreenhotels.org) This is designated by the Vermont
Business Environmental Partnership Program for their efforts in improving environmental
management at The Arlington Inn.  The VT Small Business Development  Center and the
VT Environmental Assistance Office of the VT Department of Environmental Conservation
sponsor the VBEP - Green Hotel program, jointly.                                                                           

The Berger’s, who purchased the Arlington Inn in 2002 have made many efforts to green 
up their business operations including: eliminating bleach; using greener cleaners;
developed and communicate an Environmental Policy; composting kitchen organics; 
energy efficient lighting; bulk purchase where  possible; and purchasing environmentally 
preferable and post consumer recycled products.  Their optional towel and linen reuse 
program just makes good sense for all.  To become designated as a "Green Hotel", they also 
created an environmental management plan, which maps out future improvements.  
The owners agree that Green is Good for the business their guests, and the environment.
